DPRK by all countries. We also continue to support the
objective of the complete, verifiable and irreversible

The Republic of Cote d'Ivoire, which has always advocated

any conflict, is following with interest and steady attention,
the reconciliation process initiated between South and North
Korea in the recent Winter Olympic Games of PyeongChang.
Cote d'Ivoire welcomes the warming of the relations between
the two countries as well as the announcement of the 3rd inter-Korean Summit and has a great hope for its outcome.
Unlike the first two Summits, this one is planned at the
beginning of President Moon Jae-in's term. It shows how
much he is willing to spend the
necessary time on this issue and give it the opportunity to a
happy ending.
This commitment is fully shard by Cote d'Ivoire, which wants
the talks to lead, among other things, to the signing of a
Peace Treaty marking the official and definitive end of the
Korean War, as well as to an agreement on the denuclearization
of the Korean peninsula.
Best regards,
Sylvestre KOUASSI BILE
Cote d'Ivoire Amb. to the Republic of Korea
I am very delighted that successful Olympic and Paralympic
Games Pyeongchang 2018 greatly contributed to easing of
tension in the Korean Peninsula. It is not only presence of
North Korean athletes which counts; it is the change of attitude
which is essential for further progress.
The Czech Republic has deep interest in the situation in
Korea due to the fact, that as a part of former Czechoslovakia
was a member of the Neutral Nation Supervisory Commission
and has contributed to the effort of stabilization of Korean
Peninsula for more than 40 years.
I wish full success to the Two Korea’s Summit and I have high hopes that it will bring start of
new era in Inter-Korean relations.

meeting by May also represents a positive development.
We have noted the DPRK's reported commitment to

Ethiopia Amb. Shiferaw Jarso Message
Regarding with and expectation for the denuclearization,
détente and peace on the Korean peninsula
Ethiopia realize that the road to peace on the Korean
peninsula may be bumpy from time to time, but we are
optimistic that the peace process will move on. Months
of mounting tension between North and South Korea
and the US, ended with a softening of relations between
the two Korean countries, who competed under a united
flag in the Olympic Games at PyeongChang. It is important
to nurture the seed sowed in PyeongChang to take root for lasting peace.
In this regard, we join others jn expressing appreciation
to the thus far progress and development on the peace
process achievments exhibited.
In particular, Ethiopia highly appreciates South Korean
President Moon Jae-in’s outstanding role as a mediator,
earning positive responses from North Korea and the US.
A North-South Summit that can pave the way for talks
between the United States and North Korea which is our
only chance at peace on the Korean Peninsula. It is
essential, therefore, for those who desire genuine peace
in Korea to raise a unified voice. I thank you for offering
the chance to pass my message through the esteemed
Seoul City Magazine.

North, Ghana hopes that the initiatives through dialogue
between the leaders of the two Koreas, which will be followed
by the meeting between the President of the United States,

importance of promoting a nuclear-weapon free zone in the Korean Peninsula. Therefore, we call
on all relevant parties to promote dialogue and work
together towards that end.
SEOUL CITY MAGAZINE
It is a great relief and pleasure to witness that after
growing tensions and threatening rhetoric in last year,
now situation on Korean peninsula is easing down and
a reconciliatory atmosphere has been unfolding among

useful and effective in resolving regional and international
disputes than dialogue and diplomacy and diplomacy is
the best choice toward reaching a favorable solution.
We appreciate the efforts which have been made by
the leaders of both Koreas in line with the improvement
of relations, denuclearization and reduction in

any efforts to promote world sustainable peace and
security through elimination of weapons of mass

Message of
H.E. Adel Mohammad Adaileh,
Ambassador of Jordan
With the coming détente in the Korean peninsula after
almost two years of tension in the Northeast Asian region,
there is a new window of opportunities for a peaceful
discussion between North and South, as well as with
the US. Peace and stability are the two top priorities
of the South Korean foreign policy under President
Moon Jae-in, and the peaceful approach to deal with
North Korea's nuclear capabilities and ballistic missile
threats. Denuclearization and arms control will definitely
enhance the normalization of relations between all
parties, and will further enforce the economic cooperation
and investments.
We believe, in Jordan, that the nuclear weapons do
not and cannot ensure security for anyone, as peace
can only be based on justice, and the international
legitimacy is the only guarantor of genuine peace. As
Jordan supports the establishment of the Middle East,
free of mass-destruction and nuclear weapons, and calls
on the Middle Eastern countries to join the Treaty on
the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, we hope that
Korean Peninsula will be free from nuclear weapons
and all other weapons of mass destruction. Moreover,
we sincerely wish for President Moon's initiatives for
peace and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula,
as well as the unification of the two Koreas, to be
realized, so that the future generations can enjoy their
lives in peace, security and stability.

Message of H.E. Ambassador Raul S. Hernandez on
The 3rd Historic Landmark South-North Korea Summit Talks
The Philippine Government welcomes, with optimism,
the planned summit between South Korea's President
Moon Jae-in and North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un next month. As a democratic nation that promotes
peaceful resolutions of disputes, we laud the efforts of
the two Koreas in working together to create a peaceful
environment on the Korean Peninsula.
Together with the international community, we pray for a
successful outcome of the meeting between the two leaders.
We hope that the upcoming summit will lead to a tangible
movement towards addressing the issue of denuclearization
of the Korean Peninsula and ultimately, pave the way to
realization of a peaceful and stable environment conducive
to sustainable development, social progress, and improved
quality of life for all people in the region.
The Philippines, as a close friend and blood brother of
South Korea, is ready to play a constructive role in
contributing to peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula.
Raul S. Hernandez
Philippines Ambassador to the Republic of Korea
The coming summit talks between two Korean states is
welcomed by anyone to whom peace is the most important
question.. However, for the time being détente is the first
step toward a peace process which finally might end the
long lasting conflict on the Korean Peninsula. Let our
hopes and expectations come truth. Poland as a member
of the Neutral Nations Supervisory Comittee has always
appreciated St. Francis of Assissi’s words: Where there is
discord, may we bring harmony. Where there is error, may
we bring truth. Where there is doubt, may we bring faith.
And where there is despair, may we bring hope.
Piotr Ostaszewski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland
to the Republic of Korea
H.E. Romania Amb. Mihai Ciompec
Romania is a consistent promoter of peace and
denuclearization in the Korean Peninsula. In this vein, as a
Strategic Partner of the Republic of Korea, Romania actively
supported the initiatives of HE Mr. Moon Jae-in, the President of the Republic of Korea, meant to lead to
a peaceful solution in the Korean Peninsula.
The recent positive developments in the inter-Korean relations, which started with the PyeongChang
Winter Olympics and peaked with the agreement on
having a summit between the leaders of the two Koreas,
as well as the planned summit at the highest level
between the DPRK and the USA, opened a new window
of opportunity and proved the power of diplomacy.
Using wisely this momentum, the hopes for a durable
solution in the Korean Peninsula can be given a new
meaningful impetus. For this reason, the thorough
preparation of the two planned summits is of utmost
importance, also for assuring a successful follow-up of the measures for denuclearization of the Korean
Peninsula. Romania promotes, together with other
member states of the European Union, the ”critical engagement” policy, being confident that the
best results can be attained by applying maximum pressure,
but encouraging dialogue at the same time.
Considering that the international cooperation is of crucial
importance for building a lasting peace regime in the
Korean Peninsula, Romania will continue to actively
support all efforts of the international community and
of the Government of the Republic of Korea, in view of
fully capitalizing the recent positive developments.
Contribution to the Magazine Seoul City C/O 3rd Inter-Korean Summit Expected in the end of April 2018
Faithful to its commitment to international peace and
security, and the peaceful coexistence between peoples,
Senegal welcomes the holding, in April 2018 of the 3rd
Summit between the 2 Koreas. My country hopes that
this opportunity will be used by the leaders of the two
countries, to adopt a constructive approach, create a
confidence feeling and successful dialogue, likely to bring
in, definitely, the Korean peninsula in an era of peace and
prosperity shard by all. Senegal encourages in the same
way the meeting between North Korea and the United
States of America for a nuclear-free world.
H.E. Mamadou Gueye Faye, Senegal Amb. to the Republic of Korea
Ambassador’s message regarding the 3rd South-North Korea Summit
The recent confirmation of the upcoming 3rd South-North
Korea Summit, as well as the US-North Korea Summit has
been received with great hopes
and expectations around the world. Let us give credit to
President Moon Jae-in and congratulate him for the success of the Winter
Peace Olympics in PyeongChang!
The Government of Spain has also conveyed a positive
view of this announcement, and has expressed its
appreciation to the Republic of Korea for its efforts to
implement these talks. Spain also welcomes the
international community’s cooperation in working hard
towards a peaceful and nuclear-free Korean peninsula.
Hopefully, the dialogue procedures will lead to open
talks on important regional and global peace and security
issues resulting in a complete, verifiable and irreversible
denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
But not until a successful outcome is reached, pressure
from the international community should continue
endorsing the international nuclear non-proliferation regime, including the UNSC sanctions regime
and regional and national measures for its implementation.
Gonzalo Ortiz, Ambassador of Spain
